Welcome New Committee Members!

I just wanted to update everyone with what we have been up to at HCIC.

We put on two awesome events in June, the (hopefully!) annual HCIC Charity Dinner and a benefit concert, both in Bryn Athyn, PA. It was great to see everyone there and feel the support, and we look forward to woking with everyone to get these kids the help they need.

Unfortunately, since this is a small group of volunteers, I have let some of my other responsibilities lapse in order to organize the dinner (namely updating all of you regularly on Facebook and this website). Luckily all of that is going to change! Not only has the conclusion of the events significantly lightened my load, but we also have two new committee members, Elise and Taryn! Elise is stepping in as Sponsorship Director, and Taryn will be taking over Public Relations. We are so excited to have these two join us and grateful for the help and expertise they bring to the group.

So that means I will now have time to update you all more regularly about the work we are doing and progress we are making.

And speaking of progress…we have only 30 sponsorships left to find! That means we are over half-way done with matching people to these children. Please spread the word and help us commit to feeding and education these 30 remaining children.

Procuring sponsorship is only half of our goal in Etora. We also need to raise funds to build the permanent orphanage. Now it is more important than ever that we get the money for the land they need for the orphanage. Once they own land the government will grant them a license as an orphanage and then additional oversight begins. Help us create another layer of accountability to these kids by donating to the Capital Fund today.

Finally, I have been given a large amount of photos from a recent visit to the orphanage and I will be posting these photos as albums on our Facebook Page, https://www.facebook.com/GCChildrenInCrisis. If you haven’t already, please like our page to stay up to date with photos and news.

Thank you again for all of your patience and support! I look forward to being able to update regularly.
