Thanks to two generous sponsors, the GCSC recently hired a nurse to care for the children.

Nurse Callen works at a nearby hospital and visits the orphanage once a week to assess the children’s health. She submits monthly reports to HCIC documenting which children are sick and describing their diagnoses, treatment, and recovery.

Nurse Callen also works as a part-time lecturer in Kisii University’s biology department. She has a master’s degree from the University of Nairobi and earned a bachelor of science degree at Texas Woman’s University.

Having a dedicated nurse for the children was much-needed and is a great comfort. We hope Nurse Callen’s care provides the children a healthier and happier life. We send special thanks to the donors who made this possible.
