LOCATION: Be Well Bakery and Cafe, 2651 Huntingdon Pike, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006

Come get a cup of coffee and a treat to benefit Helping Children in Crisis! HCIC committee members will be there from 10:00 am-2:00 pm to answer questions, tell stories, and show pictures of Etora, Kenya. We would love to see you!

Be Well is donating 10% of the day’s proceeds to the capital campaign to build dormitories at the orphanage. Handmade mugs will be on sale, crafted by Christina Orthwein, Kay Alden, and other artists. You can also buy raffle tickets for a quilt sewn by Lori Odhner (see below). Proceeds from the ceramics and ticket sales go toward the build a home campaign.

We have a few landmarks to celebrate at Coffee Day. We recently found sponsors for all sixty-four orphans, which is a huge accomplishment! We also just kicked off our build a home campaign. We have hit the ground running, but we still have a long way to go to reach our $300,000 goal. And this year marks the two-year anniversary of HCIC! We have achieved a great deal, and we look forward to many more successful years.

QUILT RAFFLE

Lori Odhner has generously donated one of her handmade quilts to HCIC. The quilt has a lovely story. Lori made this quilt not knowing how she would end up using it. After completing it, Lori had a dream about the children in Kenya. She contacted HCIC and offered her quilt to raffle. Thank you, Lori, for this one-of-a-kind gift!

Tickets are $5 each, or $20 for five tickets. The drawing will be Christmas Eve, and all proceeds go toward the build a home campaign. For details on how to purchase tickets, visit the Quilt Raffle page.

If you want to view the quilt and purchase raffle tickets in person, come on down to our Coffee Day at Be Well Bakery and Cafe. The quilt will be on display from 10:00 am-2:00 pm on Sunday, December 7. Don’t forget to grab some Be Well goodies while you’re there!
